Enable GZip Compression. Web Optimisation.

To improve the performance of your website you can enable GZip Compression.  This setting reduces the size of content sent to the browser of your website visitors. The smaller it is the quicker it will be.

Here's how:

  1. Login to your account cPanel
    This can be done by visiting http://yourdomain.com.au/cpanel or via your via account at https://secure.marken.com.au/

  2. Navigate Software and Services >> Optimize Website

  3. Select the Compress all content option and click Update.

  4. That's it! The server will take care of the rest for you.

 

If you want to see how much smaller your website content is visit http://www.gidnetwork.com/tools/gzip-test.php and enter your website address.  The two values you want to compare are "Size, Markup (bytes)" and "Size, Compressed (bytes)".
